Waterjet Cutting of Titanium Plate for Military Application
Intended for military application, our company was contracted to manufacture titanium foundation plates. Using a combination of waterjet cutting, reaming and countersinking, Austin Waterjet was able to successfully produce high quality plates using titanium, GR2 base material that met our client’s particular requirements. Meeting customer specifications, we constructed the plates to measure forty inches in length and twenty inches in width, with a material thickness of .25 inches. Upholding a tight precision tolerance of (+/-) .001 inches during reaming, we were able to build quality product for reasonable cost, saving the client $400 dollars for our services over traditional machining processes.
